We now have the new 3D renderings from The Verge on the newest Sonos budget soundbar. According to The Verge, Sonos internal teams codenamed this project “Fury”, and it’s slated to be released at the end of June. Sonos has always been known as a high-end audio company, but this new soundbar seems to be eyeing a new market.

That is the low-cost soundbar and audio market. Currently, this market share is owned by manufacturers like Vizio, Samsung, Polk, and even Roku with their in-house soundbar.

This soundbar is expected to cost about half of the current low-end soundbar from Sonos. That is the beam soundbar, which has a price tag of $449. So, we’re eyeing around $225 for Fury.

Features like Dolby Atmos surround sound, and built-in Alexa or Google Assistant will be thrown out of the product to make it more affordable. Sonos is expected to sell and market this bar as a simple, easy, and affordable add-on to any TV in any room.

If they truly want to break into this market, they’ll need to get it into Costco and other big box stores, where TV deals are a daily occurrence and are usually paired with low-cost soundbars. Great opening for Sonos.

If you’re in the market to add a simple and basic soundbar to a room in your home, this will be perfect for you. In June, we’ll announce when it is released, and it will be available for any ECKO customer to have installed and set up.
